\u201cI researched dog breeds for a very long time because I really wanted to make sure I got the right fit for our busy family, 5 very active kids plus Nana! Our experience with Duren and Green Field Basset Pups has been amazing.
We have had our Basset Hound for 1 year. We have had other breeds of dogs, but he is the friendliest, most loving dog ever! So smart; and so loyal. “Thanks Green Field Basset Pups, you lived up to, and possibly surpassed, our expectations! ” We think Gracie is settling in nicely considering her very long flight and being separated from Jordan and her siblings. We think she may be the cutest pup ever. Gracie is doing great. She is busy exploring her new yard (that has no grass but a couple of trails and lots of bark she enjoys digging in). She has her own wading pool she jumps (and pees) in several times a day and several toys. She is getting so used to her crate that she goes in it voluntarily and is mostly adorable. We are working hard socializing her by taking her places like the pet store, drug store, a few car rides, etc. We have had lots of people over and I think it is going well. She hasn’t played with any other dogs yet but that will change next week when we have a couple come over for a play date. I’m working on training her to be well behaved…ignoring bad behavior (mostly) and rewarding the good. She is super smart and catching on quickly. \u201cI wanted a dog for a number of years. My husband and I didn\u2019t have any kids and the house was feeling a little lonely. We believed adding a little pupper to the mix might spice things up, so we began our search. I did a lot of research on breeds and where people buy dogs and thought we would first start our search at a shelter. Unfortunately, it was a disastrous experience. I didn\u2019t feel prepared to take home an older pit bull or a dog with behavioral or medical issues, which is basically what the shelters had. This is when I started looking for a breeder.\u00a0 I wanted a dog I could run with, and also train to do some tricks, I felt Basset Hound really checked the boxesy. I began looking up breeders of Basset Hound. I wanted someone I felt was responsible and who wouldn\u2019t lie to me about the size the dog would grow to be (size was very important to me). By luck, I came across Green Field Basset Pups website.\u00a0 They sent me some pictures and though I didn\u2019t want to get too attached (since I had seen another dog from another breeder who didn\u2019t work out and I was heartbroken) I fell in love with him immediately.<\/p>

He was a teeny, tiny puppy with big, beautiful eyes and markings. When I ran with him on a leash around the park, he kept looking up at me and would follow me everywhere. I was in love. I knew he was my puppy.\u00a0<\/p>

Today, we have the most perfect little dog. Cowboy (nickname Hotdog) is the most social puppy I could have asked for. He is known around the dog park by both humans and dogs as the friendly puppy. He was a wiz in his dog training classes and was adored by the instructor since he was such a fast learner. He wakes up every day to run or hike with me and loves playing chase around the yard. He really aims to please.\u00a0 We are excited because we are going to start agility training in the next few months. I can’t say thank you enough. I highly recommend Green Field Basset Pups.
